Vedic Maths.

Want to solve quicker? Here is the way.

The core of Vedic Mathematics lies in sixteen sutras (aphorisms) and thirteen sub-sutras (corollaries). These sutras are concise mathematical formulas that cover various aspects of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and more.

They provide mental calculation techniques that are both efficient and intuitive. Each sutra encapsulates a specific mathematical principle or technique, which can be applied to a wide range of problems.

One of the key features of Vedic Mathematics is its simplicity. The methods are designed to be easily understood and applied by students of all ages. For example, the sutra “Ekadhikena Purvena,” which means “one more than the previous one,” is used for finding the squares of numbers ending in 5.

To square a number like 25, you take the digit 2 (preceding 5), add 1 to it to get 3, and then multiply 2 and 3 to get 6. Finally, you append 25 to get 625 as the answer.

Vedic Mathematics is not just limited to basic arithmetic. It also extends to more advanced topics. The sutra “Vertically and Crosswise” can be used for multiplying large numbers. For example, to multiply 23 by 47, you use a cross-multiplication technique that simplifies the process and reduces the need for extensive multiplication tables.

The benefits of Vedic Mathematics are manifold. It enhances mental calculation abilities, promotes creativity and innovation in problem-solving, and builds a strong foundation for understanding complex mathematical
concepts. Students using Vedic techniques often experience improved speed and accuracy in their calculations, which boosts their confidence and interest in mathematics.

Moreover, Vedic Mathematics has applications beyond academic purposes. It can be employed in various fields such as engineering, computer science, finance, and everyday calculations. The mental agility developed through these techniques is invaluable in professional and personal contexts.

What we teach

General Math.

grade: 1-5

Building Foundations

In the early grades, the focus is on building a strong foundation in basic arithmetic. Tuition sessions emphasize mastering addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Tutors use engaging methods like games, visual aids, and practical examples to make learning enjoyable and relatable.

Understanding concepts like place value, fractions, and simple geometry is essential at this stage. Personalized attention helps identify and address individual learning challenges, ensuring that students grasp the fundamental concepts necessary for future success in mathematics.

grade: 6-8

Expanding Knowledge

As students enter middle school, the complexity of mathematical concepts increases. Tuition for grades 6-8 focuses on more advanced arithmetic, the introduction of algebra, and deeper exploration of geometry. Tutors help students understand ratios,  proportions, percentages, and basic statistics.

They guide students through solving equations, working with variables, and understanding integers and rational numbers. Problem-solving techniques and logical reasoning are emphasized to prepare students for high school mathematics. Regular practice and homework support are integral components of tuition at this stage.
